Flotilla 19....Vessel Safety Check

No citations will be given as a result of this check. The vast majority of VSCs end with a confident and proud owner looking as as a VSC sticker is affixed on the port side window of his or her boat. During the Safety Check boat owners are encouraged to talk to us about all subjects of boating safety and should be sure to ask for free brochures available on the CG Boat Smart and Waterways Watch programs.

A current VSC sticker on your boat can mean reduced insurance premiums (depending on the carrier) as well as a reduced likelihood of a boarding by the U.S. Coast Guard in a safety inspection situation. To schedule a VSC please contact our Vessel Examiner, Walter Umbach.

A Vessel Safety Check is a courtesy check of your boat (Vessel) to verify the presence and condition of certain safety equipment. Working together with the U.S. Power Squadrons, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary performs thousands of these checks each year. The Vessel Examiner is a trained specialist and is a member ot the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. The check usually takes less than an hour, and will also include certain recommendations and discussions of safety issues that will make you a safer boater.
